Funded support for Aston & Newtown’s voluntary organisations

Digikick are pleased to be delivering a capacity building programme in Aston and Newtown wards, funded by UK Government, UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Community and Place Pillar – commissioned by Birmingham City Council (Neighbourhood Development and Support Unit.) 



This programme will directly support VCFSEs (Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Economy organisations) based in, or working in Aston and Newtown Wards. There will be a range of support available including small group sessions, access to accredited training and 1-1 bespoke support. If you aren’t sure what ward you are in, use the Ward Finder tool.

  • What is capacity building?

    Capacity building for community groups involves enhancing your group’s skills, knowledge, and resources, to effectively achieve your organisation’s goals. 


    This process includes training, workshops, and access to information that will empower you to manage projects, secure funding, and advocate for your needs. 


    The programme also aims to fosters stronger networks and partnerships, enabling groups to collaborate more efficiently. 


    Ultimately, capacity building aims to create sustainable, resilient communities that can address local challenges independently.

  • How is it funded?

    UKSPF aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK, investing in communities and place, and supporting local businesses, people, and skills.

  • What if I am from an organisation based outside of the area?

    1-1 support will not be available for your organisation - priority is for Aston and Newtown groups.  


    You will be able to attend some of the group sessions, providing there is capacity and you meet the eligibility criteria. 


  • Who is eligible for this support?

    Any Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Economy (VCFSE) organisations based in, or currently working in Aston and Newtown. 


    Groups who are currently engaged with the UKSPF Aston and Newtown programme via Neighbourhood Development and Support Unit.


     

    Unfortunately, individuals and commercial businesses are not eligible for this programme of support.
